About Maya:
Maya (she/her) is the Northern Colorado branch chair of WIFMCO (CO chapter of WIFT-US) and is a performer on the stage, on camera, in the sound booth, and also diving into production - from casting, to producing, directing and writing for screen. As a multi-marginalized person, and a long-time advocate, she is also the founder and a consultant at Equity Works, LLC, which is a JEDI consultancy (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion).
About Jeffrey:
Jeffrey (he/him) got into interpreting after being cast in Children of a Lesser God" by Mark Medoff. When he was cast he did not know any sign language at all. He was lucky enough to be introduced a deaf family that taught him sign language at their kitchen table to help get him ready for the play. After learning sign language he decided to quit his job and go back to school to become an interpreter. After finishing his program he got his national certification for RID and has been working as a freelance interpreter ever since. He currently works in the Northern Colorado area and is lucky enough to be one of the interpreters that works at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for their shows as well as other theatre companies in and around the Denver Area.
NB: This event is hosted by WIFT-US. All WIFD Members are considered members of WIFT-US. Payment is required to attend this seminar and will be paid to WIFT-US directly. WIFD does not financially benefit from this event but serves as a host.
