Leaders wanted!

Women In Film Dallas needs women with vision, skill, expertise and passion to lead our organization. As we bring in our 39th year as an organization, we rely on is a success and we continue our mission to empower, promote and mentor women in the film industry.

Nominations are now open for the four officer positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

In order to run for the board or vote, you must be a current WIFD member. Make sure your membership is up to date now so you can be a part of this year’s elections!  

OFFICER POSITIONS FOR NOMINATION

All positions are elected for 1 Year Term beginning January 1, 2022. Interested candidates should have an active WIFD membership and should make themselves familiar with the WIFD Bylaws & Policies. Additional board seats will be appointed by the 2022 President.

  • PRESIDENT: Oversees the day-to-day functions of the organization, acts as the representative of the organization as needed for public speaking opportunities and an ambassador for the organization, chairs the monthly board meetings, works with the Board to create engaging and educational programs and opportunities for the organization's members, and performs various other duties as necessary. Must be a Professional or Corporate member in good standing at the time of nomination and installation.
  • VICE PRESIDENT: Assists the President with all duties outlined above, promotes the organization in the President's absence, and performs various other duties as necessary. Must be a Professional or Corporate member in good standing at the time of nomination and installation.
  • SECRETARY: Keeps the minutes of meetings and members, is the custodian of corporate records and documents, and performs those duties incident to the Secretary. Must be an Associate, Professional or Corporate member in good standing at the time of nomination and installation.
  • TREASURER: Accounts for all monies due and payable to the organization, keeps accurate receipts, deposits funds, and files tax returns. Must be a Friend, Associate, Professional or Corporate member in good standing at the time of nomination and installation.

ELECTIONS CALENDAR
  • Monday, October 25, 2021 by 11:59pm - For inclusion on the ballot, you must submit the following 4 items via email to elections@wifdallas.org:
    • Candidate Name, Email & Phone Number
    • Board Position of Interest (President, Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer
    • Bio describing why you are the right fit in the following 3 areas: (max 150 words)
    • Non-profit Board/Leadership Experience (max 50 words)
    • WIFD Service & Membership History (max 50 words)
    • Professional Experience in the industry (max 50 words)
    • Campaign Video - 2 minutes maximum which will be sent to membership to view when voting.
  • Friday, October 29, 2021 - Anonymous electronic voting election begins
  • Monday, November 15, 2021 by 11:59 PM - Anonymous electronic voting election ends 
  • Saturday, December 4, 2021 - Election results announced to membership at WIFD Extravaganza and subsequently announced via email.
