Spector 45 is a Dallas based greaser punk band that formed in April 2003, by guys NOT interested in being another Blink, Greenday or Offspring knock off, like everyone else at the time seemed to be... Instead, we're heavily influenced by the same stuff that probably inspired those bands. We aspire to capture the pure energy of 50's Rock n Roll and original 70's Punk Rock, and kick it out for today's audience... We have played over 400 shows and are always happy to perform beyond our North Texas roots.

Martini Madness Wraps Up the Year with Kindness

Updated Dec. 15th --
While the weather was a bit dreary Tuesday evening, it didn’t prevent our members and quests from joining Women In Film.Dallas for our yearly Holiday Party and bi-monthly Martini Madness event hosted by our friends at Southside on Lamar.
Neighboring businesses, such as Texas Caribbean Foods, provided everyone with some delicious down-home cookin’ while Absinthe Lounge furnished the spirits. But what really made the evening such a success? YOUR presence and the presents that you generously donated to the homeless and Kym’s Kids!
See all the photos in our Gallery under Martini Madness!
This year’s holiday party for Women In Film.Dallas will mean even more as Martini Madness helps the homeless this season!
Please join us on Tuesday, December 11th starting at 6:00 pm at Southside on Lamar, Dallas’ newest oldest address, in the gorgeous, open-space art gallery.
Texas Caribbean Foods, famous for their renowned jerk chicken, will be catering our festivities by introducing us to luscious hors d’ouevres and the “just most delicious” iced tea ever! The cash bar will be provided by Absinthe Lounge, also located the Cedars neighborhood.
While Martini Madness is usually free to our members, this year there is an admission fee for everyone; however, one we think you won’t mind giving. Both members and non-members will need to donate a new unwrapped present, of whatever kind, for the homeless. We would like to focus on children’s gifts (certified safe, please), but any contributions you would like to make, will be welcomed. And the more the merrier!
Bring your friends, bring gifts and your marketing materials for our promotional table (members only) and wrap up the year with WIF.D!
Also note, we will be voting on your new WIF.D Board of Directors at this year’s event, so come and share, vote and join in on the festivities.

Recap of The Cape and Martini Madness
What a wonderful time we had at The Cape on Tuesday night!
Built ca. 1919, the owners have turned this sweet little home into a restaurant that feels as if you are visiting old Cape Cod with the fish and seafood fresh from the sea. Some of us like to enjoy a full meal at Martini Madness, and those who did were well pleased at the catch. ![]()
Martini Madness is all about having a good time with friends. Old friends that we haven't seen for awhile come back to regale us with stories and hear what they may have missed, while "the regulars" seem to have equally as much to say. The hosts are always amazed at what a first-class group we are and invite us to return soon.
To those that missed out, the chairwomen of upcoming events encouraged us to attend this month’s programs, invited us to screenings, asked for PSA volunteers and reminded us of our semi-annual membership drive. So many things calling for our involvement! For exact details, look further on our website and DO get involved. The only thing missing was the shoe showcase, but we'll get to it next time!
REMEMBER! THE NEXT MARTINI MADNESS WILL BE ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4th AT SPIKE IN MOCKINGBIRD STATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR 6TH ANNUAL DALLAS FILM FESTIVAL CHICK FLICKS.
After that, we will "return to our regularly scheduled programming" undefined the second Tuesday of every other month undefined which means that after our October celebration we will once again meet on Tuesday, December 11th with our Holiday Martini Madness held at our beloved Mercury.
We invite members to bring your promo materials for our table! Socialize or don’t socialize; sit on the sideline and "people watch" while you enjoy the food and drinks! Whatever your style, we know you'll have a great time!

The Cape to Host Martini Madness
Last time we met we informally asked a couple of guests why they like to come to WIF.D’s Martini Madness. Beatrice Paz commented, “I’m interested in meeting new people in the industry.” Gordon Smith likes to, “Chat with people in the industry.” Rob Greaves added, “Networking!” There seems to be a pattern!
Join us this month at the breezy and relaxing restaurant and bar, The Cape at the Quadrangle from 6-9 pm. Tuesday August 14th for our infamous evening of sipping, snacking, socializing and swapping business cards.
Arrive early to display your business cards, demos and/or marketing materials on our new and popular promotional table – space is limited. Then be sure to join members and non-members around 7 pm as we casually circle to exchange names and business information with fellow industry professionals and friends. Don’t miss out this great networking opportunity! WIF.D members are free while non-members are only $10.00. View past Martini Madness information in past events and our photo gallery. Please link these two.

Riccardi's Revisited June 2007
Martini Madness Recap - Posted June 12, 2007
From the first moment you walked into the private and intimate space provided by our friends at Riccardi’s, Tammy and Laura, Women in Film.Dallas’ Membership Chairs, immediately made you feel welcome and a part of the family; and if you weren’t a member then, there is no doubt that you left the party thinking that perhaps tonight you found a home in WIF.D.
WIF.D’s main objective has always been to promote and enhance the recognition of our members and all professional women in the film and video industry, and Martini Madness is an excellent example of how WIF.D mixes mingling with fun, for a casual and never stuffy evening of networking. From the informal circle of introductions to the new promotional table where members can drop off marketing materials about themselves, Martini Madness proves time and time again to be one of the best marketing tools for women and men in the regionundefinedand it's loads of fun too!
Riccardi’s was the perfect host of WIF.D’s latest Martini Madness with their fabulous foodundefinedpasta, boneless buffalo wings and delicious salmonundefinedthe likes that many mentioned they had never tasted until that evening. Riccardi's drinks are among the best in Dallas, and the service was splendid!
Among the guests, Janis Burkland mentioned in the circle that our work with TXMPA has just begun and talked about how we can help with the momentum. To paraphrase our wonderful Martini Madness host and WIF.D board member Donatelle Mascari, "The bill is signed, but it's not going to be a free ride. Get involved!"
The promo tableundefined filled with business cards, promo pieces of every kind, and even a DVD player with a demo reel (smart thinking on one member’s part!)undefinedwas a hit.
“It was a great evening and one that I feel will resonate for a long, long time,” adds Donatelle.
WIF.D thanks every contributor that made this evening such a success! Don’t miss out on the next "Tuesday Tradition," August 13th. Check out the photos in our Gallery!

Dallas Video Festival Teams with Martini Madness August 8, 2006
August Martini Madness at
the Dallas Video Festival
August 8, 2006
Our August Martini Madness celebrated the women filmmakers showcasing their works at the Dallas Video Festival and was fabulous. Donatelle did a fabulous job. We thank the people at Spike who were so gracious to host us. Meredith signed up a bunch of new members. And the place was hopping. Afterwards, many of us went to see Chip Richie and Steve Heape's fantastic "Trail of Tears" Cherokee legacy. Members Deb Cornish did sound design and James Neel composed music.
