Are you looking to challenge yourself, meet like-minded women, work towards a common goal, educate the community about new pressing issues in the film industry, provide scholarships to deserving individuals to continue their education or finish a current project, or just want to have fun? Then a seat on the Board of Directors of Women In Film.Dallas is the place for you. We are currently recruiting and accepting nominations for the 2012-2013 open Board seats and want you to nominate yourself or someone that you think would be a great candidate.
Nominations are due by 5:00pm Friday, November 18th.
Nominations should be no more than 150 words in length, describing why the candidate would be a great fit for the WIF.D Board of Directors. Elections will take place via anonymous electronic ballot. In order to run for a Board seat or to vote for new Board Members you must be a current member of Women In Film.Dallas.
OFFICER POSITIONS Available for Nominations (1 Year Term):
PRESIDENT: Oversees the day to day functions of the organization, acts as the representative of the organization as needed for public speaking opportunities and an ambassador for the organization, runs the monthly Board Meetings, works with the Board to create engaging and educational programs and opportunities or the organization's members and various other duties as necessary.
VICE PRESIDENT: Assists the President with all duties outlined above, performs public speaking opportunities and promotion of the organization in the President's absence and various other duties as necessary.
SECRETARY: Keeps the minutes of meetings and members, is the custodian of corporate records and documents, and performs those duties incident of Secretary .
TREASURER: Responsible for all monies due and payable to the organization, keeping accurate receipts, and depositing funds.
BOARD SEATS Available for Nominations (2 Year Term:)
MARTINI MADNESS (2 positions): Martini Madness chairs are responsible for throwing networking parties and our annual holiday bash.
MEMBERSHIP (1 position): The membership chairs are responsible for hosting the annual membership drive in September of each year, maintaing the organization's membership databases, welcoming new members, creating membership cards, sending out renewal notices and working with expired members to rejoin the organization along with all other associated duties pertaining to membership.
PROGRAMS (1 position): The Programs chairs are responsible for hosting 3-4 education programs for our members a year. This includes securing a location, developing a topic and securing associated speakers, working with area vendors to obtain donations where possible for food and beverages to be served at the event, managing all event logistics and all other associated duties pertaining to programs.
CHICK FLICKS (2 positions): The Chick Flicks chairs are responsible for the annual Chick Flicks Film Festival and the WIFTI showcase. Chairs solicit submissions, screen films, select the films to be screened, develop creative, secure the venue, oversee the silent auction and manage all aspects of the Festival.
PSA (2 positions): The PSA chairs are responsible for overseeing the annual WIF.D PSA for a local charity in need of a marketing and promotion video. The application process, selection of a charity, coordination of all volunteer cast, crew and equipment and a special attention to detail when it comes to the successful completion of a full scaled video production are essential components to these board seats.
PUBLICITY/WEBMASTER (2 positions): The publicity chairs are responsible for the public message portrayed about Women In Film.Dallas. Press releases, FaceBook pages, event invitations, list serve blasts, website updates, newsletter content and all other related messaging are the critical jobs tasked to the publicity chairs.
TOPAZ (2 positions): Established in 1987 to honor distinguished Texas women and men who, through their own vision, have made outstanding contributions to the film and television industry, the Topaz chairs are responsible for hosting and organizing the annual Topaz Awards reception. The event also raises funds and awareness for our scholarships and grants.

All candidates must be current active members of WIF.D to be eligible for nomination and candidacy.
