SPOTLIGHT ON LISA KASELAK


This Spring, Lisa Kaselak’s new film TOMLINSON HILL screened at the Dallas International Film Festival as part of the Texas Competition. TOMLINSON HILL documents life in Marlin,

Texas, a small town still divided by race despite the civil rights changes of the last 60 years. Reporter Chris Tomlinson confronts his own shame and guilt while covering the on-going rift between citizens who resist change while others strive to move on.


Lisa is an independent media artist from Austin and an Assistant Professor of film and new media at SMU. Her work includes traditional documentary and narrative filmmaking as well as non-linear digital storytelling and digital installation art. Her other films include DOUBTING DARWIN, THE SOUP PEDDLER and LET THEM EAT CAKE.
