2009 Guidelines for the Chick Flicks |
Have you submitted your short film yet for our 8th Annual Chick Flicks Film Festival? It is up next on Oct. 8th!
Women In Film.Dallas now features Chick Flicks all year long! Starting immediately, WIF.D is accepting submissions in narrative,
documentary, animation, experimental, and music video for potential inclusion in
one of our four screenings throughout the year, including our annual Chick Flicks
Film Festival this October 8th in partnership with the Studio Movie Grill! These short film submissions must be
by a filmmaker with Texas roots - either producer, director, or a crew
member with a key role in the production.
“I am so excited to expand our very popular Chick Flicks Film Festival to include regular film screenings throughout the year,” said Jessica Schoenbaechler, Board Member of Women In Film.Dallas and Co-chair of the Chick Flicks Programming Committee. “Talented women make outstanding films and videos that deserve to be showcased all year long, and we are pleased to offer DFW audiences an opportunity to enjoy them in a fantastic environment, Studio Movie Grill.”
The newly expanded
Chick Flicks Film Series and Festival includes four screenings at
Studio Movie Grill's DFW locations. Our first screening was the annual
WIFTI Showcase celebrating International Women's Day in March at Studio Movie Grill in Addison. Also at Addison, our June screening sold out as we presented 4XWIF.D, four films by four talented WIF.D members. Our Sept. 8 screening is being rescheduled (Date TBA) but we look forward to seeing you in October, at our 8th Annual Chick Flicks Film Festival.
Proceeds from tickets and entry fees benefit the WIF.D scholarship
fund.
To submit a work for the Chick Flicks Film Series and Festival filmmakers must provide the following:
- Film submissions must be by a filmmaker with Texas roots - either producer, director, or crew member with a key role in the production.
- Submit a DVD of your film, labeled with the film title, filmmaker's
name and total running time. Films of any length will be considered.
- Include the filmmaker's name, brief bio, year of production, contact address and phone
- Write a brief synopsis of the film (50 words or less)
- Include one production still, non-returnable (digital file on CD or print image, high resolution)
- Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or postcard (this will be
sent to you upon receipt of your submission) and mailer if you would
like your film returned to you
- Check made payable to Women
In Film.Dallas sent to Women In Film.Dallas, 2600 Stemmons Freeway,
Suite 117, Dallas, TX. 75207. The entry fee is $20 for members and $30

for all the screenings within one year of receipt.
And now submission is made easier!
