 "When WIF.D asked for a poster to advertise Chick Flicks, I wanted to create a visual that reflected a story comprised of hundreds of female experiences in the film industry throughout time. I began to imagine what it would be like to try to make a film during the beginning of motion pictures.
The result was an illustrated female character who parallels women's progress in the film industry (and history) through her role in the poster. The first year, she was a camera woman on the Texas frontier; this year, she is a director during the 1920's.
Her journey not only becomes a symbol of women and their contributions to film but is also reflective of the goal of Chick Flicks to provide support for young female filmmakers as they begin their own journeys."
