Less Than Two Weeks To Submit Films To Chick Flicks |
Save this date, October 2, 2008, for our 7th Annual Chick Flicks Film Festival, brought to you in part by FUNimation Films, Urban Taco, and AFI Dallas International Film Festival.
Each entry is eligible for the coveted "Audience Choice," "Jury Choice," and our new "Crew Girls Choice" award.
The winners will receive a gift package that includes festival passes to AFI Dallas and the Dallas Video Festival, a fully loaded grip bag from MPS Studios Dallas, budgeting or scheduling software from Entertainment Partners, passes to WIF.D's highly anticipated program, "We've Got That In Development," gift items from The Filmworkers Club, and treats from Cabot Creamery and Urban Taco to help you get through those future edit sessions!

KERA, Laura Neitzel, Documentary Writer and Producer for AMS Production
Group, and Jessica Schoenbaechler, Story Producer and Writer for AMS
Production Group and WIF.D board member, will be judging the short
films from our talented pool of Texas female filmmakers. Read their impressive bios here.
WIF.D is accepting submissions in narrative, documentary, animation,
experimental works and music videos. These short film submissions must
be either produced or directed by a woman with Texas roots OR, for
entry into our new "Crew Girls Choice" category, crew members may
submit a short film with a detailed explanation describing their key
role(s) in the production.
Chick Flicks will be October 2, 2008 at Dallas' Angelika Theater with
proceeds from ticket and entry fees benefiting the WIF.D scholarship
fund.
Please use the following guidelines for participation:
1. Submit a DVD of your short, labeled with the film title,
filmmaker's name and total running time (must be less than 20 minutes)
2. Include the Producer and/or Director's name, brief bio, contact address and phone
3. Write a brief synopsis of the film (50 words or less)
4. Year of production
5. Include one production still, non-returnable (digital file on CD or print image, high resolution)
6. SAS postcard (this will be sent to you upon receipt of your submission)
7. Bubble pack SASE (if you would like your film copy returned to you)
8. Check made payable to Women In Film.Dallas sent to Women In
Film.Dallas, 2600 Stemmons Freeway, Suite 117, Dallas, TX. 75207
Submissions should be postmarked no later than Friday, September 5, 2008.
Submission fee is free to WIF.D members, $20 for students and $30 for non-members.
