2008 WIFTI Showcase -- July 8th
We had a great turnout to our special arrangement of the WIFTI Showcase July 8th. See who in our Gallery here!

UPDATE - July 9, 2008

It was a full house at Studio Movie Grill in Addison on July 8th when members and new friends turned out for a fun-filled evening.

The program featured shorts from 9 international filmmakers who each made a unique statement as artists and as women.  Poignant, thought provoking, even disturbing, these varied and unusual films each contributed a piece to the puzzle that is the voice of our experience as women throughout the world.  Women In Film.Dallas appreciates the glowing reviews received from audience members the following day and we encourage more feedback.

Made possible with the support of SMU/Meadows Division of Cinema Television, with the assistance of Cynthia Salzman Mondell (past WIF.D president and current board memeber/WIFTI representative) and we look forward to the next annual WIFTI showcase, to be held in 2009.  Thanks to Studio Movie Grill Addison as well for being our wonderful host!

2008_wifti_logo.jpg“This is one of my favorite events of the year!” exclaims Eileen Hoeter of Vancouver, Canada, current Chair of Women in Film and Television International. “For 25 years, I have been involved in an International Women’s Day celebration, and in all my years nothing matches the vitality of attending the WIFTI Showcase. This is WIFTI's third year producing the Showcase and it is always an unbelievable event!"

Women in Film and Television International's Short Film Showcase Celebrating International Women’s Day 2008 will be screened here in Dallas July 8th, and will feature nine outstanding short films culled from over forty finalist selections submitted by our international Film Festival Partners including Bryce Dallas Howard's directorial debut of Orchids. To read more about these talented directors and their films visit WIFTI here and then click on each title tab.

This showcase made possible with the support of SMU/Meadows Division of Cinema Television
