2008 Gratitude Award
The Gratitude Award is presented to an industry supporter who has made
on-going contributions to the television and film presence in Texas.
This year, we recognize the contributions of Don Stokes, who has
supported the North Texas production community for over 40 years. Don has
produced award-winning films and videos in the commercial, corporate, and
documentary sectors for more than thirty years. His involvement has been
inclusive of script and project development, supervision and selection of
production teams, in addition to budgeting and cost control.
In September of 2002 Don founded his own post-production facility, Post Asylum, Inc. His goal was to provide a
resource to assist advertising agencies and independent film and video producers
in their transition to the post-production process while providing them with an
environment of unparalleled production support.
Don is a past President of the Dallas Producers Association and currently
serves on that organization’s board of directors as well as the boards of the
Texas Motion Picture Alliance, the AFI Dallas International Film Festival, Arts
Fighting Cancer, and other film organizations. He is also a member of the Texas
Association of Film and Tape Professionals and an associate member of Women in
Film.Dallas through his company, Post Asylum.
