What a Night!

All I can say is WOW. Last night over 120 women and men packed Bread Winners Cafe for our Meet and Greet the New 2006 Board fête. The room was filled with energy, creativity and film talk. We expanded our membership by ten. Our new members range from people those that have never ever been to a WIF.D event to people who are returning after having taken a hiatus. Expanding our membership rolls is great, but what is even better is that our new members asked about volunteer opportunities. We are attracting people who want to be involved.

I must stop and congratulate Trayc and Jana. This was their brainchild and it was hugely successful.  Marissa and Trayc worked the sign-in table and Meridith and Dee signed up new members on the other side of the room.  Most of our fabulous Board was there mingling and talking about Women In Film.Dallas. And of course we appreciate all the people who took photos.

I must say I was a bit worried about having everyone introduce themselves. But people loved it. They felt comfortable and relaxed. And it added so much to this special evening. There are so many people working on exciting film projects in Dallas. And as at all WIF events, deals ere discussed, projects were promoted, work was found and new friendships were made.

We have a great Board and a great expanding membership.  WIF.Dallas has once again shown that it plays a major role in the North Texs Film Community.
