Letter From WIF.Dallas President
Lisa Stabler
"The creation of a thousand forests lies within one acorn."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
2009 will be a year of focus and growth for Women In Film.Dallas. Our
goal is to continue planting the seeds of growth and ensuring the
success and continued respect of such a vital component of the industry
that the previous leadership has set in motion not only in Dallas, but
throughout Texas.
Our 2009 Board of Directors is as diverse as the types of trees in a
forest. That diversity will help us reach far and wide to expand our
membership and awareness. Through our efforts for educational and
training programs; networking opportunities; and entry, mid, and
high-level career advancement through our PSA, Mentoring and Internship
programs; we will foster the continued growth of our members both
professionally and personally.
We are an organization that promotes, educates, and enhances
professional production. We actively work towards responding to our
members' needs and connecting with members on an individual basis to
positively impact their careers.
We saw great growth and leadership in 2008 and plan on utilizing that
momentum to guide WIF.Dallas to producing more effective and efficient
programming and opportunities for the decision makers, employers,
employees, mentors, interns, and industry professionals that make up
our membership. Our thanks to Meredith Stephens, our board, and
committee members for their dedication and commitment to our mission.
Please, stay tuned to the
WIF.Dallas website for more announcements about exciting programs and
events throughout the year!
We look forward to working with all of you, our strong and supportive members, the industry at large, and the Dallas Community.
Now is the time to join us, and help plant the seeds of growth and participation within Women In Film.Dallas!
Lisa Stabler, WIF.D President, February 2009
