Cynthia is an independent filmmaker
who with her partner Allen Mondell has produced and directed and distributed
over 35 documentaries and museum films.
Their work has aired nationwide on PBS and Cable networks. Their films
for Sixth Floor Museum about the life, death and legacy of President John
Kennedy have been seen by over 5 million people.
Cynthia is past president of
Women In Film Dallas, a board member of Women In Film & Television
International and past president of the Board of New Day Films, a nationally
known independent film cooperative based in New York City. She was an artist in
residence at the University of Texas at Dallas, a member the Texas Jewish
Historical Society and the American Jewish Committee.
Cynthia was nominated for
an Emmy for her work on a Public Service Announcement for Meals on Wheels in
conjunction with Women in Film.Dallas and in 2004, she was honored with the
Women in Film's Topaz Achievement Award. Cynthia's latest release Louie, Louie: A Portrait in Parkinson's,
is a personal journey of her family's struggle to cope with their father's
30-year battle with the debilitating effects of Parkinson's disease.
Cynthia
and Allen are currently in production on two films, The Monster Among Us, a
film about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe, A REASON TO LIVE about depression and suicide among young adults and
Sole Sisters, a documentary about women's fascination with shoes. She has
won numerous awards, but what she is most proud of is the effects her films
