Tammy Nguyen Lee is a producer, filmmaker
and actor. She is currently the Director of Development and
Distribution for Original Programming at AMS Pictures. Prior to that,
she worked at Revolution Studios and became Director of
Development promoted to Managing Director of The Mine, LLC., a music
video and commercial production company. In 2007, she founded ATG Against
The Grain Productions, a non-profit production company that also raises
money for Vietnamese orphanages and organizations dedicated to Asian American
education and culture. She is a firm believer in giving back to the community
and has served in a variety of leadership roles, including as Miss Asian
American Texas. In addition to serving on the Board of Women in Film.Dallas,
she continues to be involved with several non-profit groups, including APEX
(Asian Professional Exchange), Visual Communications, and as a speaker for the
Monster Diversity Leadership Conference. Tammy is currently producing the
documentary "Operation Babylift: The Lost Children of Vietnam," a
retrospective and dramatic story about the orphans that
were adopted by American families after the Vietnam War. (www.TheBabylift.com).
She graduated with a B.A. in Cinema
from Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts
and an MFA from UCLA's Producers Program. Her first films,
"Lunar Cycles," "First Slow Burn" (starring "Angel" star Amy Acker) and
"Yellow" have screened at Dallas Video Festival, Asian Film Festival of Dallas,
and San Diego Asian Film Festival. Repped by The Horne Agency, her acting
credits span from movies, television, commercials, industrials, and national
print campaigns. She is a recipient of the Women In Film.Dallas College
Scholarship, a twice over Finalist in the Producers Guild
sponsored UCLA Marketplace competition, and was awarded the
Mickey Dude Diversity Fellowship. She loves to cook, eat, travel, and
spend time with her husband and miniature schnauzers, Oscar & Emmy.
