UNT MFA Thesis Film Screening (7:00PM - 8:30PM)
Two Master of Fine Arts documentary thesis films from the University of North Texas -  Department of Radio, Television and Film will be screened in room 184 of the RTFP Building on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 7 p.m.

The screening is open to the public. Danny Greer’s documentary, “Snakes Alive!” (15 mins) tells the story of the annual Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup in Sweetwater, Texas. Jennifer L. Horst’s documentary, “Women in Red” (19 mins) delves into the past and present of stereotypes surrounding redheaded women. Horst is a current member of WIF.Dallas. Both Greer and Horst will graduate with their Master of Fine Arts degree from the Department of Radio, Television and Film in August, 2008.

He will also discuss screenwriting for the low-budget feature. Following his presentation and a Q&A, Russ will screen "Fissure," his 90-minute sci-fi/crime thriller.

IndieClub Gong Show at SMG-Dallas with Mary Jo Pehl (MST3K) as emcee!

IndieClub.com presents the Third (sort of) Annual Gong Show Sunday, June 22, 2008.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at the Studio Movie Grill 11170 N Central Expressway at Royal Lane (NE corner)

The IndieClub Gong Show is a short-film showcase contest. Featuring: Emcee: Mary Jo Pehl (MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000) Celebrity Judges: · Gini Mascorro (KERA’s new Art&Seek) · Jack E. Jett (“QUEER EDGE”) · Drew Waters (MAD MONEY, “INSPECTOR MOM”) · Winston Edmonson (“Innovation@Work!” radio show)

Each film receives one minute of free play then the judges (with the audience’s help, of course) must decide the film’s fate. Play on through or GONG it!

DJ Modchap will provide interim music and keep the show lively as 18 films are screened!

Four cash prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening: · 1st Place - $1,000 · 2nd Place - $500 · 3rd Place - $250 · Audience’s Choice - $500
